It has been a very busy week for ACCC Board Members and Volunteers. Art and Photography Professor from East Carolina University School of Art spent almost 3 hours judging this expansive and diverse show. He commented about all the creative work coming out of Carteret County and surrounding areas.

Fine Art and Photography students from Carteret Community College and some dedicated ACCC member volunteers spent all day Monday getting the 340 + works of art hung and arranged in the former Carteret News-Times Building.

Make sure you attend the gala reception for this exciting exhibit next Saturday night, February 16th from 6:00 – 8:00pm.
Prior to the public opening, the Arts Council will host its annual fundraiser and preview party on Friday night, February 15th at the gallery from 7:00 until 10:00 pm. This event will feature live entertainment, delicious hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and a chance for all in attendance to enjoy the artwork, much of which will be for sale. Tickets for this special preview event will be available in January for $50 per person. Proceeds from the evening will help the Arts Council fund its projects for the coming year. Thanks for the posting, Patrick. You and your hanging crew did a splendid job!
This year will display 347 pieces of original artwork, many of which are for sale.
Also, the student show sponsored by the Carteret County public schools is almost hung and it looks great. Clearly, we have some very talented young artists in the area.
Remember, admission to the show is free, beginning Saturday, Feb. 16th at 6:00 pm.
