Summer Art Camp 2009
Carteret Community College
The Arts Council of Carteret County, in cooperation with Carteret Community College, will sponsor a summer art camp on the college campus from August 3-7, 2009. The camp will operate daily from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon. A mid-morning snack will be provided. Art camp will be open to students ages 11-15. Students will receive instruction in drawing/painting, photography/computer generated art, and drama. The curriculum will be divided into three tracks. Students must sign up for one of the three tracks listed above for the entire week. The last day of art camp will be dedicated to student presentations concluding with an award ceremony.
Carteret Community College instructors for the courses are Patrick Keough, photography; Jason Smith, painting; Lela McClanahan, drawing; and Bob Malone, drama. The purpose of art camp is to allow students to continue their study of art during the summer and to further develop their creativity and talent through a program designed to stimulate their minds. Art camp is sponsored by the Arts Council of Carteret County and Carteret Community College.
Art Camp is limited to 80 students. Tuition is $100 per student which covers all art supplies and a mid-morning snack. Applications may be downloaded by going to the Art Camp Link of the ACCC website: artscouncilcarteret.org or by emailing Patrick Keough at pjk@carteret.edu.
